Heather moorland

Heather in bloom at the southern edge of Burbage Moor, overlooking Parson House near the Hathersage road from Sheffield. Is it normal for heather to still be in bloom into September? It was certainly in good colour today. Had a good walk over the moors and through nearby countryside and suburbs of Sheffield - a fascinating area with city and moor so close together.
