Why did the elephant cross the road???

......i really have no idea. In fact he came towards us first and we had to quickly jump back in our minibus!!! He was magnificent and it was such a pleasure to see him
In the wild as we drove from Colombo to Sigiriya.
We had visited the elephant orphanage at Pinnewala en route but it was far better to see a "wild" elephant in his own habitat.
