Heron walking
After a morning at work, I got back to catch up with a few jobs including phoning the Maire adjoint in Vernet to make sure there would be scaffolding in place in the church tower when the English bell engineer makes a flying visit in a fortnight. It seems that the bell installation project is still on course and that would make it the only church in France with the capacity to perform English change ringing. The council has not passed the project but we have two strong allies who are both deputy mayors so they should be able to get it through. I am not sure what the reaction of the village will be if/when they eventually hear English bells ringing out. In the afternoon I got out for a short walk but what a difference in temperature!
