The Old Forge (Saturday 8th April 2017)
It is another garden blip as I didn't get beyond it, this time of a double-flowered kerria. I did manage to successfully plumb in a new receiver in the kitchen and connect a pair of old Gale monitor speakers, adding Bluetooth, DAB and wi-fi as well as improved sound to accompany the washing up.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Beatles - You Can`t Do That (recorded 14 July 1964, Studio S2, Broadcasting House, London, for Top Gear, introduced by Brian Matthew)
R.I.P. Brian Matthew (17.9.1928, Coventry - 8.4.2017)
That most genial of disc jockeys passed away on this day. In the early sixties radio programmes like Saturday Club and Easy Beat and TV shows like Thank Your Lucky Stars were the only source of decent music. He interviewed all the best groups and singers and regularly featured BBC sessions by big groups like the Beatles. He presented Sounds Of The Sixties for Radio 2 until the end of 2016.
The Beatles were especially proud of You Can't Do That, which John wrote in February 1964 from his personal experiences, and they recorded it for the BBC on four occasions, of which this, with a voice-over by their old mate Brian Matthew, was the last.
