Grand Day Out!

Alan was up earlier than usual this morning as we were heading off on a shopping trip to Braehead.  He was mega excited as we were dropping him and Kirsten off at Ikea whilst D and I headed to Pagazzi and Laura Ashley to look for two table lamps and a floor lamp for the garden room.   Alan absolutely loves Ikea and has done since he was tiny, no idea why.  Maybe he thinks he might find attractive Swedish blondes there!  

Dropped him and Kirsten off and we went on a mission to find lights.  Nothing in Pagazzi.  The lights we'd seen on their website didn't look so good in the flesh so we headed to Laura Ashley and there 50% sale.  Saw lights we'd seen on their website and they looked every bit as good as they had online so purchases were made.  Also got a couple of very nice photo frames in their sale.  David rolled his eyes but it's my view you can never have too many photo frames :-)  We then we headed over to Ikea to pick Alan and Kirsten up.

When they got back to the car Kirsten was laughing as it was her very first time in Ikea and she hadn't a clue how it all worked.  She finally figured out she should follow the arrows but when she got to the end of the retail part, she didn't know how to get to the checkouts.  She had to keep asking people what to do and where to go.  It never occurred to me that she'd  never been to Ikea before.  I thought everyone (well everyone under the age of 30 who has their own accommodation) would be very familiar with the place :-))

Now we've settled down to an evening of NCIS.  I'll have dozed off in minutes :-)
