First Birthday

So pleased we could be with Allegra for at least the first couple of hours of her birthday, before they flew back to the UK. Got the hotel to put a candle and a sparkler on a pannetone-type cake they had, but she went all shy till the sparkler had finished. We were keeping her from touching the candle flame like her Tita did on her first birthday and screaming the place down...

This time last year we were racing for the ferry at Santander, getting the news she'd been born just as we were boarding. What a joy she has been.
