The Roman Road

Today I planned to start printing my toad design but it was a beautiful day  and the morning walk with the spaniel somehow turned into an all day trek along the Sussex Ouse Valley with views of the South Downs in the distance. This is a view south from a footpath north of Barcombe Mills that follows the route of an old Roman road. Lots of butterflies around in the morning - orange tips, speckled woods, peacocks, small tortoiseshells, brimstones and the first green-veined whites of the year.
