Derbyshire's superb industrial heritage
Wonderful Sunday walk up and around Derbyshire.. specifically around the High Peak Junction. And then a visit to the city of Derby itself once again.
Main picture is a a stunning artefact of Derbyshire’s industrial heritage on the Cromford Canal. This 1849 structure carries the canal above the River Derwent. I think the sheer robustness of the structure speaks volumes about how important extending the canal network up to Cromford was.
Next picture from the top of said viaduct is the chimney from the Leawood Pumping station which once drew water from the river and pumped up to the canal above.
I also visited the Crich Stand and then on to Derby!
