Above the clouds

The cyclone that drenched us last week has gone; to be replaced by another, Cyclone Cook. Not only does this promise to make our weekend away with the boys very wet and windy, it disrupted air travel around the country today. Fortunately, although the clouds were low over Wellington airport, they were still high enough that the airport remained open and we were only 20 mins late when we left this evening. 

On the way north we flew above the clouds, and I was able to see across from my aisle seat, and see the colours produced by the setting sun.
