Going Forth
Wednesday's walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers started with a wee hurl on the Bo'ness & Kinneil steam railway. We took the train up to Birkhill and then walked back via Upper Kinneil and then through the Kinneil Estate (stopping to visit the Roman fortlet, the ruined church and Kinneil House) before dropping down to the Foreshore and completing our walk back to Bo'ness via the Harbour.
It was only about 10km but had an excellent variety of terrain and scenery. It was also brighter and sunnier than expected. Probably the biggest bonus was that the blustery wind was a westerly, which meant it was at our backs on the 3-4km stretch along the Foreshore. Result!
