Love lockers

It's apparently difficult to trace the exact origin of the tradition of locking padlocks on railings and then throwing away the key, in order to seal/declare love. Some say that it originated in China and I didn't know but there are locks found along the Great Wall and at some sacred temples. The locks of love can be found now in Japan, South Korea, USA, Italy, Hungary and Russia and probably many other places in the world.
