Shadow play

The light was too good to be indoors so I bunked off the museum trip kindly arranged by our hosts and instead took the cable car up to La Bastille on the hill across the river from Grenoble. The glorious views of the city and the snowy mountains of Belledonne and the Vercors were unphotographable but there was lots of fun to be had with the strong sun. On a previous visit I've walked back down to the city on the winding gravel path; today I took the 1244 steps down. I am told my calves will know all about it tomorrow.
