The Riwaka Resurgence

Today we tried to make the most of the long awaited sunshine. First up we crossed over to the other side of the inlet, giving Jack a walk along the spit. It was incredibly exciting for him, as there were plenty of kayakers setting out to explore the many bays of the Abel Tasman National Park.

After being pulled across the sand we thought we do something a little less exciting (well for Jack, not for us) so we headed into Riwaka to grab some local beer from Hop Federation. Nom nom.

After that we thought a bit of a walk would be good, so I walked out to the Riwaka Resurgence, where the Riwaka river emerges from the Karst stone of Takaka Hill. What a stunning spot and one of the best half an hour walks I've done in NZ.

Believe it or not this is a near 180º panorama, made up from 26 shots using my 12mm f/2 Samyang lens on my X-T2.
