Tea and Biscuits

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments yesterday.   

Today I have been helping our son with a bookcase he is building.  As someone who loves having the right tool for the job I was able to advise how best to do the job.  

The "biscuits" in the picture are actually wooden jointing pieces and wouldn't taste very nice.  They are inserted in slots cut using a special tool called a Biscuit Jointer and make a neat and strong finish.  You can just see one in its slot on the bottom left.

It's coming along very nicely (if a little slowly).  I am sure it will be something he can be proud that he made when it is finished.
