How annoying!

Camera in hand, well, round my neck actually, I headed off to Cockermouth Castle for Hertiage Open Day. My intention was to share lots of interesting and unusual photos with you. Unfortunately no sooner had we been let in through the electric gates than the lovely lady on the right of this photo said that as the castle was still a family home we could not take photos!
I took this one quickly as she led us up the garden path drive.
The castle is very well worth a visit and the gardens in the ruined parts are lovely...but there may not be another chance. I heard on the radio that Heritage Open Days are at risk because English Heritage may not be able to go on supporting them having had a one third reductionn in its funding.
