Gentle Pippy

With the cooler weather, shorter days, and less growth (even though we have had 6 inches of rain recently) Doug decided it was time start feeding hay out to the calves.  
Here is Gentle Pippy - crazy cow Poppy is loitering out of shot, she didn't come near until Doug was out of the paddock,
I loath the wrapping they do on the large round hay bales these days - they are so bright and "out there" - why can't they use  more earthy colours, as they are, seeing snakes of these stacked along fence lines really are a blight on our rural landscapes.  Grump over!!
I took the easy option - long lens and stood out on the lawn and snapped this.  Blip sorted.

Enjoyed a visit from Tim this afternoon - we always enjoy a good old chinwag regarding photography, work, and all sorts of topics.

This morning we finished giving the lavenders their annual hair cuts.  Good job done and dusted.  The bank they are growing on is so wet and slippery but neither of us arsed up thankfully.
