Post
I often pass this wooden post on my walks. It's sticking up out of the river bank and only visible for about 3 months in winter. After that, the stinging nettles obscure it from view. I've no idea what it was originally there for - there's no indication of other man-made structures nearby, other than a similarly sized and weathered post in the water about 50m away. I'm not sure how to photograph this very low contrast subject successfully. What interests me is the texture, and the indications of past woodworking.
