Community Spirit
We left Skye via the bridge and drove on to Applecross, giving Bealach na Ba a miss due to the weather forecast (snow and winds gusting to 55mph) - just didn't fancy being the people behind the Facebook photo that everybody was laughing at :-)
I liked Applecross a lot. Impressed by the vibrant community and "can do" attitude. Particularly impressive is the 24 hr self-serve Community Fuel Station. They like visitors to make use of it as the more they sell, the better the price. We liked the price already and wasted no time in topping up Vincent's tanks.
Also appreciated was the free Wi-fi and the general embracing of Tourism and Tourists.
Just goes to show what a community can achieve when not sitting on its backside moaning about how community X, Y or Z has much better facilities/luck/funding.
