Another Day, Another Lake

A solo visit to Wast Water before breakfast having woken early and refreshed. A 14 mile  hilly round trip on the bike to my favourite lake in these parts. Our supposed lazy day ended up being a new walking record of 8.6 miles, heading down the valley to the coast, via the grounds of Muncaster Castle, then returning by train on the Ravensglass and Eskdale Railway. J & C still had energy to spare, spending the rest of the day playing out on the raft and swings, coming in briefly for tea.
