Up, Up and Away
I don't know if this was the same hummingbird which thought she could get nectar from a small, red, glass ball but she is definitely headed in its direction. The ball is just above the swing's bar. If that's not the attraction, maybe she has this rattling around in her head and feels the need to look for her beautiful balloon!
It was a lovely Easter morning. I sat on the patio with a cup of coffee, watched the sun rise and was surrounded and entertained by my little feathered friends. The sun shone brightly with some puffy clouds drifting by and the slight hint of a breeze made it feel quite comfortable. The temperature later reached 95°/35° but because of the low humidity, it actually felt 5°(3°) cooler.
I have to change the nectar more often now: every three days, even if the feeders aren't empty. These little devils haven't been stopping by them as often as they do at other times of the year. There are just too many other natural sources available right now. They especially love the ocotillo flowers. Those sources won't be around much longer. May is our driest month and June is the hottest.
