Here there and everywhere

Ramadan Lamps

Ramadan isn't till towards the end of May, but these lamps are already still popping up everywhere. Those were in a supermarket in Zamalek where we went to buy printer ink. They didn't have the ink we wanted, but we left with plastic adhesive hooks, Heinz soup, tins of tuna, a chopping board, a towel, pack of paper for the printer, and two wicker basket fruit bowls! We came home laden as we also bought flowers and eventually found the printer ink too.

We both worked in the morning in the flat. The Internet was painfully slow, but I managed to do my annual (or is it once every two years?) online CELTA standardisation, which consisted of watching a 40' lesson and grading it, marking the lesson plan, marking and grading 3 written assignments and, a new task this time round, saying which of 3 lots of tutor's feedback was balanced, easy to understand from a trainee's perspective and developmental. All done and dusted and very good to tick that off the list!
