A Good Year for the Roses
When my boy started Primary school we took a picture of them both infront of this Rose bush. They stood somewhere underneath it. Then when he started Secondary School we did the same and again they weren't quite as tall as it. Tonight seemed like the perfect time to complete the set. Whilst tonight is not about my boy moving on, my girl won't be here when he eventually does, so this seemed to complete the set.
As you can see she is looking more excited and confident than yesterday. Her stress levels were up today but she never bit my head off. Her accommodation is nothing like palacial but by the time we left it looked more homely and comfortable with a good stash of crips, sweets and biscuits under the bed and a bowl of fruit on the desk as a healthy option.
She ushered us out as she was keen to meet up with friends. That was a good sign. I hadn't realised how close she would be to the hallowed turf of Partick Thisle FC.. She will be able to hear the roar of the mighty jags from her bedroom. My boy reckons he is on for a visit soon so he can go watch the game.
A cup of tea now and a handful of peanuts. We stocked up with pesto, snickers, corriander and all manner of ridiculous things we aren't normally allowed to have in the house. Lets hope our girl isn't planning a visit home in the near future.
