Sandpiper at Pennington Flash
Not the best shot of the day, but as this is the first time I have seen and photographed a sandpiper, it makes it as today's blip. ( Another bird off my life list). I was hoping the bird would step out into the water, but this is as far as it got. Sandpipers are quite small and, therefore, difficult to spot. Luckily, this bird was fairly close to the hide.
Some of the birds seen today:
sandpiper
bullfinch ( male and female)
greenfinch
nuthatch
reed bunting ( male and female)
jay
heron ( going for mallard chick but bravely fought off by mum)
chiffchaff
oyster catchers
etc. ( too many to list)
