Cheat?
The swallows have returned - though this shot would suggest that they were carried by some kind of marathon character. However, the truth is they have flown 9000 miles to return to this tiny village in the Lake District.
My wife is quite literally joyful when they come back. It's the signal of warm weather, bright flowers and, more importantly, that there is only one more term until the summer holidays. Not to mention her incredulity that they have flown 9000 miles to stay in our shed again.
Anyway... welcome back!
