Rainbows for Friendship
Marcus' new challenge is to "make light your main subject", which I love, and have often thought that is actually what I do a lot of the time - in the right light, even the most mundane subject transforms... And surely one of the most beautiful effects of light are when we see rainbows.
At the end of last summer, a brave Blip couple, HarlingDarling and Keibr came to stay without ever having met us, and we had such a good time together that they are coming again next week...(!!) One of the gifts they brought us were a couple of crystals in a birch wood box. One throws rainbows all over the lounge in the mornings; the other hangs from the rusting window bars in the guest room and lights up in the afternoons.
I've spent a good part of today trying to capture them and their rainbows and seen so much beauty - almost fireworks coming from them at times. But capturing a small swinging crystal and one of its rainbows was next to impossible - here is one attempt - the background is Mourão's castle.
