Diversion In Place

The notice read "Bridge across the Kill Burn on Edinburgh University land is unsafe and should not be used. Use Diversion Route as detailed below" and a route was indicated on a satellite view. The bridge didn't look too challenging, but we thought we'd better play safe.
On a road the diversion would have been clearly indicated; in the wilds you find the alternative way for yourself - eventually, astonishingly, ending up on the opposite end of the bridge, which was actually fenced off. More interestingly, the diversion took us past an old ice house, presumably related to Dryden House, which was demolished in 1938
