Kookaburra sits .....

.... not in an old gum tree but on a dead looking branch.

Enjoyed a visit to Calderglen Country Park this morning. Started off with a walk down by the river followed by a coffee break and a chance to read a couple of chapters of my book.  

Then the highlight of the morning .... a visit to the wee zoo and a chance to check out the inhabitants. I've never seen the wild cat or the porcupines ..... both elusive. The kookaburra is always willing to pose after choosing his best side to present to the camera.
