My Gran had a grand day out today to celebrate her 98th birthday. My Mum took her on the train to visit the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh (quite a well-to-do place!) and there they enjoyed tea, sandwiches, scones, cake and a couple of large glasses of wine! When I called her this evening she sounded like she'd had a marvellous day. None of the grandchildren/ great grandchildren were able to make it today, with it being a school day, so we have another lunch date organised for this Saturday.
