The old abandoned stadium
AMI Stadium to some, Jade Stadium to others and Lancaster Park to diehard staunch Cantabrians not keen on name changes and naming rights.
It doesn't really matter as it's munted as it's smack bang in the middle of an area that suffered liquifaction. I think one stand has gone (the Hadley stand?).
It won't come as any surprise I've never seen a rugby or cricket match here (or anywhere come to that) but I did see David Gilmour's 'Dark side of the Moon' concert one cold January night.
It still provides plenty of architectural blips:-) I like it large
An interesting bike home today. At one point I had the Avon River on one side and river side homes on the other. Some have been demolished, others are shocking to see, while others appear superficially ok and are occupied. At one point I glanced up to see a man lounging in the sun in the front of his tidy property while the neighbouring house has caved in walls, its angle suggesting movement stopped in mid-lurch.
It was a stunning contrast and testament to how we have all, to some degree at least, absorbed what surrounds us in our normal. It would have made a great blip but felt intrusive (and my fluro cycling shirt lacked subtle blending qualities ;-)
I think I'll achieve a little harmony on the home front and then surprise the hunter with a house call of my own.
