Spot the mistake!
It was good to be out walking today, and stretch my legs.
We had a lovely 7 mile walk from the village of Weeton, just south of Harrogate.
Such a joy to be out in the countryside in Springtime.
Birds singing, the pathways lined with wild flowers, and lambs frolicking in the fields.
We came back along the river Wharfe, and then through the bluebell woods of Rougemont.
( wonder if you spotted the mistake? ! )
Rougemont castle was an early earth and timber fortress. ( the remains buried in the woods). Once the centre of the manor of Harewood, and abandoned in 1336 when Harewood Castle was built by the de Lisles.
A nice finish to our walk.
