Maternity

I ended up on a wild goose chase with a refugee lady today trying to get her to see a doctor. She's 7 months pregnant. (lots of my refugee friends are pregnant and I get to do the Dr visits with them. The hospital today was heaving with displaced people) The system (or lack of it here) and snooty attitudes of doctors drives me crazy. At one point a big lady threw herself on me in the middle of contractions. It was quite a funny moment! I just rubbed her back and told her to breathe properly!

I took this photo through the door of my friend's shepherd hut house before we left for the hospital. I found out really sad things about her today. So many people here have been through so much. It has begun to stop shocking me now quite so much, I think I expect it.
