My Best Efforts - Year 3

By AMC

90 Years Old................

......................and still going strong! There is a Classic and Vintage Car Show in a nearby town today so thought I would pop over and have a peek. Was pleased I did! There were quite a number of vehicles there but this one I particularly liked and was invited to sit in it - which was quite something!!

You may be interested to have a few facts which the very proud owner gave me. (if you are not, you can always skip the next bit!!!!)

It is a 1922 Morris Cowley 2-seater Bullnose, 1st registered on the 12th of January 1923. One of only 16 in the world known to the Bullnose Morris Club. Original cost (new) was 299 guineas (£313.95). Road Tax £12.
Between 1945 and 1958, and with the rear body removed, it was used as a Tractor!

Restoration began in the 1980s and was completed in 1987.
It has a 11.5 (1500cc) engine, 3-speed Gearbox + reverse 4cyl side valve engine, Lucas starter/ dynamo 12 volt system, Lucas electric lights and magneto ignition. Between 25 and 30 miles to the gallon and a top speed of between 40 and 45 miles per hour.

It made me wonder how many of our present day cars will still be running in 2102!!!

The weather here is very warm, bright and sunny - am very pleased as, with so many open topped cars at the show, it would have been so disappointing if it had rained.

Many, many thanks for putting "Result of an Early Lunch" on to the Spotlight page yesterday.

try large - hit the L key on your keyboard for a quicker result - it may work!!!

Have a good weekend everybody!
