10,000 tulips!

They have planted 10,000 tulips at Standen and now they are looking brilliant. Every time we turned a corner in the garden there was another spectacular display. They were on banks, beside paths, following curved walls and in the orchard. See extras.
The tulips were a surprise because I had actually gone to Standen for a Kaffe Fassett exhibition. I have long been an admirer of Kaffe Fassett's designs. I have knitted three cardigans and used his fabrics in quilting. To see some of his work was a real treat. See another extra for a vibrant quilt.
Normous was my driver, and we found an xcellent wayside pub for lunch.
