Great spotted woodpecker

A great day for the birds - the cottage window looks out onto a couple of bird feeders, and they have plenty of visitors. Coal tits, great tits, blue tits, chaffinches, robin, dunnocks were seen, and then this chap turned up. His lady appeared a little later on. The red squirrel that visits the cottage feeders remained elusive.

I went for a walk around the cottage, finding a mountain bike track through the forest. It was so empty and quiet - wonderful.

Mum, Dad and Rory came to visit and we did some more bird-feeding watching. Who needs TV!

In the evening, I went through to Inverness to see the panto at Eden Court Theatre. It was very well done, and it was all worth it to see my older little bro do the actions to Kung-Fu fighting.
