Heading Home
This is the Cal Mac ferry 'Isle of Lewis' almost loaded and ready to leave Ullapool for the morning crossing to its home port of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
For us it was our last morning in Ullapool before we left for the drive home. We had a walk to the small local market just up from the harbour then popped round to "An Talla Solais", the arts centre where there are often exhibitions and currently there is a small arts shop selling jewellery, paintings, and craft work by a group of local artists and crafts people. We had a brief chat with some friends and then it was time to leave.
The ferry headed out to sea, through the Summer Isles, and across the Minch to the wonderful Isle of Lewis (I am biased ... we lived there for 8 years). We headed East to Inverness, then South with a stop at the 'House of Bruar' for lunch bypassing Perth as we turned East again for Dundee and then to Carnoustie.
Later ... we began to think of the West and how soon we could go back :-)
