Saddleworth
A repeat walking of the latest Superlative Walk. This view looks across a beautiful valley to St Chad's Church, next to which is the magnificent Church Inn, start and finish point for the walk. Along the way we visited such places as The Swan at Dobcross, built in 1765 and owned for a time by the Wrigley family who emigrated to the USA to find fame and fortune with their chewing gum.
We also found fine reflections on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, where we had a look at the Western entrance to/exit from the Standedge tunnel, a triple superlative as the longest, highest and deepest canal tunnel in Britain. It was a lovely warm day, with some great hillside views.
