Our first day in Rome.
We planned to get up early and head in, but sort of failed miserably at that. Eventually wandered in along the river for an hour and a half or so and got a nice light lunch on the little island in the middle.

Spent hours walking around the pantheon, determined to find the house of Livia despite being ridiculously thirsty and unable to buy a drink. It was heavenly when we eventually found a water fountain, and especially nice when we did finally (after walking past it) find the house of Livia.

Followed this by rushing to the colosseum before it closed, which was amazing, and then heading to the Trevi fountain in the evening.

I think this was also the day I was absolutely amazed that you could get free fizzy water at water fountains here and drove Davenport insane about it!

Also managed to completely flood the whole flat while attempting to have a shower, and then broke the shower rod as I tried to clean up the mess. Good end to the day!
