Barefoot in Leith
Nagar Kirtan
A Nagar Kirtan is a religious procession of the Sikhs through the streets of their home town. This is a celebration of the occasion of Vaisakhi an annual harvest festival celebrated throughout the North of India.
So the Sikhs were parading down Leith Walk this morningThere was a carnival float of musicians and a whole crown of followers singing and celebrating. It was obvious that full families had turned out and that this was a meaningful event for them.
I chose the sword bearers for my blip. Barefoot with a drawn sword. Got to credit it.
