This afternoon we went to our final event of the brilliant music festival that is happening in the town. This one was a family St Georges Day concert that started with crafts. She painted a dragon shield to cheer Team Dragon and had her face painted with a George cross & a dragon.

The show was great. What I really liked was that the singers and pianist dressrd like they would for a grown up concert, in suits and smart dresses. The characterisation of the family piece came from them. It was fun, it was lighthearted but it was a "proper" concert, introducing children to "proper" classical singing in a very approachable way. Katie loved it, though she hoped for more musicians (there was only a pianist) but she listened intently to the whole thing and laughed away at the funny lyrics. The blip today was taken and tweeted by one of the performers as they were Introduced.

The theatre trip was wrapped either side by clarinet & piano practises ready for her clarinet lesson tomorrow morning, plus church and a bit of lazy time with a movie. She's very cross about back to school tomorrow but at least has her lesson to get her out the house in the first place
