Weed?

Another beautiful day. Spent the morning grappling with ground elder and so-called pernicious weeds.

I hadn't realised it was Earth Day yesterday but my weeding prompted me to sit and read Richard Mabey's comments about John Clare's appreciation of weeds, even ragwort, listed now as a noxious weed with it's own Ragwort Control Act, and how increasingly alienated we have become from the natural world.

Later, a walk up Gowbarrow (extra) late afternoon after taking garden waste to Flusco. 

Salmon on a bed of fennel, wild garlic and ground elder (!) for supper.
