Marathon happiness!
We got up early today and walked over to the heath to watch the start of the marathon. Then headed down to Greenwich and stood by the Cutty Sark for a while, to watch the runners come through there. Funnily enough, we had followed this woman to the start first thing this morning (I could just see her green tutu poking out from under her coat) - then spotted her looking very happy at the 10k mark - and actually then again over at Canary Wharf (not looking quite so fresh-faced then, after 17 miles!)
After watching the first of the mass start runners come through, we walked through the Greenwich foot tunnel, and then up to Canary Wharf, where Tim and I sought out the spot where we first met ten years ago (almost to the day) :) We bought some lunch, which we ate while watching the runners, then cheered them on for quite a while, before eventually heading back home. A lovely way to mark our ten-year anniversary.
Got home early afternoon, and had a nice relaxed afternoon/evening - really tired after the early start and lots of walking/cheering/standing around! Our neighbour turned up twice again at our door, having locked herself out (again) - and then a third time to 'return the key' we'd given her (actually an envelope with some random booklet in it). It's so sad - I really can't see how she can live in her own home much longer :(
