Field work

It's been wonderful to have family members, in different combinations and for different lengths of time, home for the past two sunny weeks.  Cooking, baking, laughing, eating, drinking, arguing, shopping, finding treasures in the charity shops, walking in the woods, picnicing at the beach. Work has been done too: weeding, mowing, brambling, burning, wood chopping and turning the hay-that-nobody-wants. (Yes I've tried social media....)

Now they are all gone leaving piles of dirty dishes, clothes to be washed, sheets to be laundered, quietness and solitude to settle again.
