Bird of the Day, or Day of the Bird?

I've been to the British Trust for Ornithology Yorkshire conference today. It was a long but enjoyable day and I learnt a lot about how volunteers' records can be used to learn about birds. Appropriately, this rather splendid sculpture was in front of the Leeds hotel which was the conference venue.
