Rock Filled Gabion

My blip today is in homage to my father who passed away 29 years ago today.  My father used to say that if he never taught us anything else at least we would know what these are (a rock filled gabion) when we saw them.  To this day when I see them they make me smile and think of him.  Therefore, to mark the anniversary , and instead of the usual plant for the garden our purchase, I thought I would take a photo and share it with you.  I have made a bench in our garden out of some small gabions and often sit there with a cuppa coffee, tea or G&T (depending on the time of day) and remember my father.
