Launching on Paraparaumu Beach

D & I are on our way back to Christchurch , as his daughter and grandies aren't well.
We drove down to Wellington today, and are now sitting on the Wharf, waiting for the Bluebridge ferry to Picton.
We had lunch sitting in the sun at Paraparaumu Beach, watching this boat slowly getting stuck in the sand.
The island in the background is a bird sanctuary, Kapiti Island. I used to go out there fishing with my Dad, in my teenage years.
This has been a disrupted trip, in many ways!
