Today was ANZAC day, so Adrian was off and we paid homage by driving a little way down The Great Ocean Road. It was one of those perfect days. We didn't plan much, just thought we'd try a walk on the edge of the Otways. It was amazing in there, so many birds singing songs. Unfortunately though our walk was a washout from all the rain we had last night, the creek that we were supposed to be walking along had well and truely overflowed. It put a stop to our walk, but not our day. We carried on to Lorne and the sun shone and we walked along the foreshore to the pier and back. Bean had a mammoth nap, (2 and a bit hours, which is great for him out and about) while we sat in a cafe/bar on the beach and drank beer/iced chocolates (one of us had to drive home)
Perfect.
We have the men that returned from The Great War and carved their way through the cliff faces and made The Great Ocean Road to thank for creating access to such beauty.
Lest We Forget.
