Tiny Tuesday: Time...to dry off!

Trisharooni's done a great job of hosting TT this month - many thanks! She's chosen "Time" as today's theme, which seems very appropriate for the 100th Tiny Tuesday: time seems to have flown since the challenge started.

This cute little gosling seems to reckon it's time to come out of the pond to dry off. (The out-of-focus stripes in the background are from the adult who was keeping watch.)

It was one of 10 being looked after by 3 adults at Gosforth Nature Reserve this morning. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to identifying bird life so I went on a guided walk in the Reserve, listening for (and where possible looking at) the spring birds. The volunteer leader was incredibly knowledgeable - as indeed were all the others on the walk so I felt very ignorant! But one has to start somewhere. Unfortunately there were no photo opportunities for the few rarer birds we saw so I had to make do with the geese.
