Blue Sky Day

A beautiful morning of blue skies and fluffy white clouds on the golf course this morning, made even better by the fact that I managed to eradicate my problem with taking the club back in order to hit the ball: it suddenly occurred to me to stop thinking so much about trying to move my hands and just concentrate on moving my legs and body in the correct way first; sure enough, as soon as I did that, my hands followed suit naturally and I was able to take the club back with no problem at all! It was such a relief not to have to struggle over every shot and just enjoy playing.

This is the view down the fairway to the distant green from the 14th tee.

This afternoon, I attended a reunion of former teaching colleagues at my old school. It was great to meet up with old friends, some of whom I haven't seen in years, including the man who, as Headteacher at the time, appointed me as Head Of English back in 1984; he's now 88 and still playing golf once a week, so there's hope for me yet.

As you can imagine, a lot of old stories were told, memories shared and lives caught up on. A definite blue sky day.l
