Anzac magic.

Golden butterflies,
Loving summer's late nectar,
Moment of magic.


On Anzac Day, when we down under remember those who were prepared to die for our country and our values, we give thanks for the life we can lead. Today, accompanied by a photographer friend from China, I saw some of the most amazing sights I could hope to see in one day :
* at 2.00 am we saw a bit of the Aurora Australis which is extremely rare in this location.
* at 8.00 am we saw a pod of Orca whales swimming in the harbour.
* at 3.00pm we saw hundreds of late hatched monarch butterflies feeing on bottle brush flowers before they hunker down for the winter.
