Mixed emotions
Today has been a mixed emotion day.
I attended a funeral of a sweet little lady who used to teach me domestic science at school, she would have been 90 next year. I wonder if she ever realised I was a lost cause in the kitchen. (I've just burnt the sausages I forgot i put under the grill!) It was a nice service, sorted by herself which I think is lovely, theres no bother for anyone else, all done and dusted. Rest in peace Miss Armstrong, I'll miss my duties as sidesperson with you but I'll remember you always. A perfect little lady.
It was then off to a birthday party for a long serving work colleague, another with a birthday with an '0' on it so we celebrated with afternoon tea with colleagues old and new. A lovely short but true speach from the manager and we carried on with our tea. I made my usual photo of memories book, which proved more difficult for this person as she is more sensible than some of us and embarrassing photos are hard to come across! So Happy Big Birthday Mrs Little.
So, my final emotion has just been from the programme Benidorm, an Olly Murs tribute act was singing and he sang a song which used to be on the radio quite a lot when my lovely dear mam was in hospital, it made me sad, for a short while, she wouldn't want saddness to go on, but sometimes things come back and hit you in the face and Olly did just that. Anyway, he's gone now and so has my saddness my old teacher will now be catching up with friends who left before her, my colleague will be catching up with friends and family over the next few days I'm sure, I'm pleased I've been able to share with both this day of mixed emotions.
